Thankful Thursday - Communication

GEDC9788 I saw her gazing at the clouds, but not like I do, in wonder, more like she wanted an answer to her pain. It caused me to reflect on the blessings of so many true and reliable friends I have. When my heart is overflowing with pain I can go to our father who created the skies and all under, and/or I can vent to my friends. Talking to a friend soon makes your problem seem much easier to deal with. Thankfully, we have communication. Could you imagine living in a world where we had none or worse yet, a world without God who moves mountains and clouds? :-)

Lift your voice to be heard
Express yourself, share the word
Lift your pen, share your feelings
Open up and feel the healing
Of all the words I have heard
Few are as pretty as a bird
Not all words are soft and sweet
Life is not always upbeat.

GEDC9802
I saw her face staring at the sky
I saw the tears, I caught her eye
I looked away lest she feel bad
I could see her eyes so red and sad
I wanted to say I've a listening ear
But was afraid to draw near
I've lived awhile, there's lots I've heard
To think all’s good would be absurd.
But sharing pain casts it in two
Half for me and half for you
Lift your voice and share your feelings
Open up and feel the healing.

Don't forget to be thankful and have a blessed week.

Be Careful what you Multiply!

Quote of the day:
"Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby.

If you give her a house, she'll give you a home.

If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal.

If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart.

She multiplies and enlarges what is given her.
So if you give  her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of *stuff".

I took the liberty of making one minor change to the wording as this is a family friendly blog, but I'm sure you get the gist! Take care & God bless!

Sunrise, Sunset – Does it Matter?

sunset

Sunrise, sunset, the difference depends in the direction your heading or looking, right? The beginning and the ending of each day is defined by God and given to us brightly wrapped in brilliant colors. The middle of the day is left up to us. It is our choice to appreciate the glorious gifts He gives us and to treasure the day or to disregard them and to trudge along on our way. I think it is truly amazing that He remembers to end our days as beautifully as He began them!

I was reading and commenting on blogs, doing the same on articles, trying to finish my latest article to get it submitted and knowing that soon my weekend would end and I would have to start the work week again. We’re always multi-tasking. Trying to be on three sites at once, feed the husband, do the laundry, talk to friends and family…. In other words trying hard to do everything but hardly doing anything. If you could see my heart, you would know I want to excel at it all.

My grandson called me in the midst of my feeble attempts at juggling ten tasks. I had three books open to various pages and several windows open on the computer. I clicked over from another call to take his. I just sat down after bringing my husband his plate. “Grandma”, he began, “My girl needs a ride home from work.” Oh, sweetie”, I began, but soon I was out the door to do him the favor and walked out into a beautiful show stopping sunset! I didn’t have time to run to the lake to get to see it reflected on the water or time to run to the park to see it at the horizon. I had trees, homes, buildings, telephone wires and street lights to obstruct the view, but God’s beauty came shining through! All God asks is for a moment of our time and the rewards are truly worth it. He asks us to stop crowding Him out and just give Him a moment.

Peachy lilies

This month we are required to work Saturdays. It’s our turn again. We may wish it would never be our turn, but it’s only right. peach lilies
The week ends just don’t seem the same. They were already MUCH to short. :-) There are so many things I love to do in my “spare” time and friends and family to see. (I don’t believe in the term “spare” time any more than I believe in the term “extra” money. Neither exists!!  Who invented these two phrases any way?

But our dear heavenly father has created an equalizer. When you are (or should I say I am) feeling out of sorts because I am feeling that I am forced to be some where I do not want to be or to perform tasks I do not want to perform I am distracted by something wondrous. As I was heading out the door of work (finally!) this lily beckoned me. Look, doesn’t it look like it is saying “come closer, look at me!”

And, of course, I did. Little lily, how can I resist your beauty? Who would want to? Then, lucky me, who got to work on Saturday, captured some lovely reflections and a butterfly on the way to my car. I’m saving those for my other two blogs. For more shadow shots, please check out Shadow Shot Sunday!

How is your week end going? I hope you are doing what you love best. Take care and God bless!
