Thankful Thursday - Water

Without Water
There would be
No baths
No fishing
No boating
No swimming
No bubbles
No tears
No rain
No life!
No you
No me

This thankful Thursday is being posted a day early (it's never too early to be thankful)! Our family is visiting with out of state relatives and preparing for a burial. Thanks so much for visiting. I will be making my rounds shortly. Miss you guys! Take care & God bless!

Meet the Fonz at Coolville!

But Mom, why can't we go? I don't want to go to the dentist.
Why can't we do something cool for a change. I want to meet the Fonz!

Some of my favorite things - in red

I love the Bible words found in red
These are things that Jesus said.

A grandchild and a great grandchild here
Make my heart feel very dear

Red faced flowers brighten the day

Playing Sun Tag

reflections
Although the sky is very bright
With clouds of glowing white
The sun is playing peek-a-boo
And right now out of sight

reflections2

The sun has found me now
Its shining on my face
But as I turn to look for it
It’s gone without a trace!

Even Flowers Know when to Bed

  sunlight
God designed our days in a certain way. The sun comes up to help us see our way and complete our tasks. At night it goes down as we no longer need  sunshine as we sleep and someone else in another part of the world is enjoying the benefits.

sleeping flower

I took this picture just fifteen minutes ago  (9:15 p.m.) of my Rose of Sharon. It was in full bloom just hours before. Even flowers have enough sense to tuck themselves in for the night. :-)

Every night I tell myself I’ll be in bed by ten
But this and that comes along and it’s late again
I sit at my computer nearly falling from my chair
So very tired am I but free time is so rare
Between working at the office and taking care of home
I’d just like an hour I could call my own
But if I only had an hour I’d have to decide
Go outside, take pictures, or read and write inside…

This just goes to show you I want more than an hour! :-) Enjoy your weekend. Take care and may  God richly bless!

Never Satisfied!

Have you ever noticed that we are a complaining bunch! I had to chuckle the other day when I heard the same person who complained of no rain complain when it rained!

God sat upon a cloud looking down on man
St. Peter stood near saying “They’re hard to understand.
They complain when it snows. They say it should be sunny.
So you send lots of sunshine and they complain it’s muddy!
You leave the sun up shining so the mud will go away
And they complain of heat and want a rainy day!”

I have to admit, I’m just as bad, but I’m working on it. :-)

The picture was courtesy of Windows Live Writer, but it would not publish. Fortunately I saved a few of my photos to my desk top. My photo albums are having technical difficulties and I cannot access most of my files.

Take care and God bless.

In His Shadow

shadow1 shadow I’ve read there are cultures that require wives to walk ten paces behind their husbands. So in a manner of speaking they are walking in their shadow. We were created to be a man’s help mate so should we not walk beside him?

If I am to be in a shadow, let it be God’s. He can guide and direct me and I will gladly follow. As long as I am in His shadow then I will know it is His light shining and guiding. To join in our shadow shot Sunday please visit Harriet.
I can't wait to see you there!

Take care & God bless!

Thankful Thursday - Communication

GEDC9788 I saw her gazing at the clouds, but not like I do, in wonder, more like she wanted an answer to her pain. It caused me to reflect on the blessings of so many true and reliable friends I have. When my heart is overflowing with pain I can go to our father who created the skies and all under, and/or I can vent to my friends. Talking to a friend soon makes your problem seem much easier to deal with. Thankfully, we have communication. Could you imagine living in a world where we had none or worse yet, a world without God who moves mountains and clouds? :-)

Lift your voice to be heard
Express yourself, share the word
Lift your pen, share your feelings
Open up and feel the healing
Of all the words I have heard
Few are as pretty as a bird
Not all words are soft and sweet
Life is not always upbeat.

GEDC9802
I saw her face staring at the sky
I saw the tears, I caught her eye
I looked away lest she feel bad
I could see her eyes so red and sad
I wanted to say I've a listening ear
But was afraid to draw near
I've lived awhile, there's lots I've heard
To think all’s good would be absurd.
But sharing pain casts it in two
Half for me and half for you
Lift your voice and share your feelings
Open up and feel the healing.

Judy Sheldon-Walker

Don't forget to be thankful and have a blessed week.
